Cozy Harbor and Hendricks Head (Southport Island page 2)

Traveling up from Cuckolds along the west coast of Southport Island brings us to Cozy Harbor. It was pretty quiet when we were there. The parking area was partially plowed, which allowed us to get in for some pictures.

Anne is crouched on a plowed parking area, taking a picture of some lobster traps.

The docks clearly had not been used since the last snowfall. Of course, it did snow a few times while we were there, so that doesn't necessarily mean much.

The ramp down to the floating dock is covered with snow.

A view of the snow-covered dock, and a small skiff that also has snow on it.

It looks like these particular lobster traps are in dry dock for the season.

Many lobster traps are on-end and covered with snow.

The little restaurant there is also closed for the season.

Outdoor picnic benches are upside down and covered with snow.

Cozy Harbor provided us with some classic winter scenes.

Looking over water that has buoys and a snow-covered pier to some land that has many snow-covered evergreen trees.

A mostly cloudy sky is above a snowy harbor scene.

Just a little north of Cozy Harbor is Hendricks Head beach and lighthouse. Here are a few Hendricks Head pictures from last year, although you can probably find some from every year that we have visited the Boothbay Harbor area. The area for parking felt slightly cramped because of the snow.

An intense blue sky is above a small harbor and a road that is covered with snow.

We will view the scene starting with a wide angle from far away from the lighthouse.

Looking from the edge of a harbor, you can see a snow-covered island and a lighthouse in the distance.

And we move in closer.

Looking at the lighthouse and island through some snow-covered bushes.

It was a windy day.

Snow flies off of the snow-covered bushes, casting snow into the sunlight air.

Still closer.

A view of Hendricks Head Lighthouse, with a bit of the snow-covered island showing.

Still more wind.

Hendricks Head Lighthouse has windswept snow.

We had some beautiful winter weather, with the sparkling sun and sparkling water.

A starburst image of the sun is over snow covered land and sparkling water.

A tiny bit of beach is showing between snow and water, along with the snow-covered island.

A couple of ducks are visible in the water.

In that middle picture in the distance there is a little something on the horizon. It is Seguin lighthouse.

Seguin Island, with the lighthouse visible on the top, looks hazy because of the distance.

We saw another nice, even though still windy, sunset.

The sun is shining through trees behind a house and the lighthouse. Wind swept snow is blowing.

The sun is seen at the corner of a building that is next to Hendricks Head. The tide is low.

A red and orange sunset sky is behind Hendricks Head Lighthouse.
